I have no way of knowing how much this may have been sensationalised by the press (or not), but he images shown are certainly poor.
This is why, regardless of experience, ongoing training is absolutely essential to every professional photographer. It really is true that you never stop learning.
It is also worth pointing out that, in my opinion, if someone pays £750 for two photographers, there is no way on this earth they are employing professionals - a professional photographer simply could not afford to offer services at this price. Unfortunately it is an expensive occupation!
